Bio-Rad affigel blue agarose beads
MyoD+ cells were ablated in the stage 2 epiblast and the embryos were incubated to stages 10–13. <t>Affigel</t> blue beads soaked in PBS or human recombinant Noggin were implanted on the right side of the embryo (A). The most proximal bead was adjacent to the first somite caudal to the developing eye. The arrow in A indicates the position of the eye. Stages 23–24 embryos were sectioned and stained with H & E. Ablated embryos implanted with PBS beads continued to exhibit eye defects (B and C). The left (D and E) and right eyes (F and G) of most ablated embryos implanted with Noggin soaked beads appeared normal. Scale bar: 56 µm in C, E and G.

Article Title: Noggin Producing, MyoD-Positive Cells are Crucial for Eye Development

doi: 10.1016/j.ydbio.2009.09.022

Figure Lengend Snippet: MyoD+ cells were ablated in the stage 2 epiblast and the embryos were incubated to stages 10–13. Affigel blue beads soaked in PBS or human recombinant Noggin were implanted on the right side of the embryo (A). The most proximal bead was adjacent to the first somite caudal to the developing eye. Article Snippet: Affigel Blue agarose beads (BioRad) soaked in a solution of 100 ng of human recombinant Noggin (PeproTech) per ml of PBS were inserted on the right side of the embryo lateral to the most cranial somite, the third and fourth somites, and the most caudal three somites ( ) ( Gerhart et al., 2006 ).
